Giloy

Giloy, also known as Guduchi or Amrita (Tinospora cordifolia), is a heart-leaved climbing shrub widely revered in Ayurvedic medicine  as the "root of immortality". It is primarily used to boost immunity , manage chronic fevers, and support detoxification.

• Fever Management: Giloy is a natural antipyretic often used to manage symptoms of dengue, malaria, and viral fevers by improving platelet count.

How to Use Giloy While all parts of the plant are used, the stem is considered the most potent. 

• Juice: Mix 2–3 teaspoons of Giloy juice with an equal amount of water; drink on an empty stomach in the morning.
• Powder (Churna): Take ½ teaspoon with warm water or honey twice daily after meals.
• Decoction (Kadha): Boil a 1-inch stem or 1 teaspoon of powder in 2 cups of water until reduced to half; strain and drink warm.
• Tablets/Capsules: Typically 1–2 tablets daily, or as directed by a physician. 

Precautions

• Autoimmune Diseases: Avoid Giloy if you have conditions like rheumatoid arthritis or lupus, as it may overstimulate the immune system .
• Diabetes Medication: Monitor blood sugar closely, as Giloy can significantly lower glucose and cause hypoglycemia when combined with meds.
• Pregnancy: It is generally recommended to avoid Giloy during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
